Ambassador of Japan visits the Port of Rijeka Authority
On Friday, June 17, 2022, the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Croatia H.E mr. Masako Iso, accompanied by the First Secretary Mr. Toyokazu Ichimura, visited the Port of Rijeka Authority where he met with its Executive Director Mr. Denis Vukorepa and his associates.
During the official program, the Ambassador got acquainted with the latest successful projects in the Port of Rijeka, current development activities, the overall investment cycle and the ever-faster development of the Rijeka traffic route. Executive Director Denis Vukorepa presented the implementation of all development infrastructure projects, the growing trend in the total traffic of the Port of Rijeka, and especially pointed out the new concessionaires in the Rijeka port area: Rijeka Gateway (APM Terminals and Enna Logic) concessionaire for development and economic use Zagreb Deep Sea container terminals in the port of Rijeka and the company ACI-Gitone, which will develop Porto Baroš into an exclusive nautical center in the central part of the port of Rijeka. Other current infrastructure projects were presented including those co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility in the total value of 132.7 million euros, as well as all other infrastructure development plans that will strengthen port position and occupies a strategically important European logistics destination.
After the meeting at the Port of Rijeka Authority, the distinguished guests made a visit to the container terminals in the port basins Sušak and Rijeka where they got acquainted with the activities of Adriatic Gate container terminal, construction of a new Zagreb Deep Sea container terminal, infrastructure works on the new state road D-403 , on the connecting road of the port area with the state road D 403, and current works on the projects co-financed from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program.
