PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project “Upgrade of the Rijeka Port infrastructure – Rijeka Basin” (POR2CORE-Rijeka Basin) was applied to the Third call of the Connecting Europe Facility published in 2016. It is a joint project of the Port of Rijeka Authority and the Port of Rijeka j.s.c. The total value of the project is EUR 33,664,078,00 and it is co-financed from the Connecting European Facility (CEF) with a share of 85% with the maximum contribution of EUR 28.614.466,00. A Grant Agreement no. INEA/CEF/TRAN/M2016/1366810 was signed on November 7th in 2017.

The project activities include the reconstruction of the current damaged infrastructure at the piers of Prague, Budapest and Vienna, as well as Visin, Orlando and De Franceschi piers. 109,420 m2 of pavement area with associated installations, 12,161 meters of railway and 1,652 meters of crane tracks will be renovated, along with reconstruction of sections of railway and crane tracks that are not currently used, all in accordance with European infrastructural technical requirements.

PROJECT GOAL

Upgrade of the connection of the whole Rijeka basin with the railway network in the hinterland and indirectly with European corridors by removing the existing outdated and operationally inadequate railway infrastructure.

DOCUMENTATION

• On November 7th in 2017, a Grant Agreement no. INEA/CEF/TRAN/M2016/1366810 was signed between Port of Rijeka j.s.c., Port of Rijeka Authority and INEA. The total value of the project is EUR 33,664,078,00 and it is co-financed from the Connecting European Facility (CEF) with a share of 85% with the maximum contribution of EUR 28.614.466,00.
• On 16.3.2020. an Agreement was signed for Technical and Administrative support services in the management and promotion of the projects “Upgrade of the Rijeka Port infrastructure – Rijeka Basin” and “Upgrade of the Rijeka Port infrastructure – Bakar Bulk Cargo Terminal”, joint projects of the Port of Rijeka and the Port of Rijeka j.s.c. co-financed from the CEF program in a share of 85%. The total value of the Agreement is HRK 2.6 million, and the signatories of the agreement are the Port of Rijeka Authority, Port of Rijeka j.s.c. and the selected company Civil Engineering Consultancy Ltd.
• On September 4th in 2020, the construction contract worth HRK 214.179.131,26 + PDV (HRK 214.179.131,26 + HRK 53.544.782,81) for the implementation of the project “Upgrade of the Rijeka Port infrastructure – Rijeka Basin” was signed between Port of Rijeka j.s.c. and Kolektor Koling Ltd.
