The 27th Fiumanka unites the city and the port under the same sails
From June 11 to 13, the passenger port will become a hub of sailing, maritime tradition, and community spirit as part of the 27th edition of Fiumanka, one of Croatia’s most recognizable nautical events. This year’s Fiumanka program was presented at the new Cultural and Tourist Visitor Centre of the “Connecting Through Heritage” project on Korzo in Rijeka, where organizers, partners, and sponsors highlighted the event’s importance in promoting Rijeka and the Kvarner region, as well as its role in bringing together sport, tourism, culture, and the local community.
Speakers at the program presentation included the Mayor of Rijeka, Iva Rinčić, the Deputy Prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Robert Matić, and Ivan Jakšić, Assistant Director of the Port of Rijeka Authority for Commercial and Operational Affairs. Long-standing event sponsors INA, Erste Bank, and ACI also addressed attendees, alongside partners and representatives of ACI-Gitone, Jadrolinija, Rijeka Gateway, Lürssen Design Centre Kvarner, Adriatic Maritime Service, and Plodine.
This year’s edition of Fiumanka further demonstrates the strong cooperation between local and regional institutions, the business sector, and civil society. The program includes sports and cultural institutions, while diplomatic representatives from several countries will also be among the guests. Special attention will be given to presenting the European titles held by Kvarner: European Region of Sport and European Region of Gastronomy.
Participants in the presentation symbolically signed the official T-shirt of the 27th Fiumanka bearing the message “Bil san i ja / I was there too,” expressing their unity and support for an event that has become one of the most important symbols of Rijeka and the Kvarner region.
As a long-standing partner of Fiumanka, the Port of Rijeka Authority continues to contribute to the successful organization of the event, reaffirming its commitment to opening the port to citizens and strengthening the connection between the city and the port through activities that promote maritime tradition, sport, and community.
