The Port of Rijeka Authority, in cooperation with the Rijeka Tourist Board, successfully presented Rijeka at the world’s leading cruise industry event, Seatrade Cruise Global 2026, held in Miami from April 13 to 16, 2026. This prestigious international fair brought together representatives from as many as 125 countries, 85 cruise brands, more than 650 exhibitors, and over 12,500 participants, including key stakeholders from the cruise sector such as the world’s largest cruise companies, port authorities, and tourism organizations.

By participating in this event, the Port of Rijeka Authority and the Rijeka Tourist Board further emphasized their commitment to positioning Rijeka as an attractive destination on the Adriatic. The focus of their presentation was on promoting the city and the region, developing new partnerships, and attracting a greater number of cruise ships in the upcoming seasons. During the fair, representatives of the Port of Rijeka Authority and the Rijeka Tourist Board held a series of meetings with cruise operators with the aim of including Rijeka in new itineraries and strengthening its visibility in the global tourism market.

Thanks to systematic investments by the Port of Rijeka Authority in port infrastructure, including the construction of floating pontoons, the Port of Rijeka can accommodate cruise ships of up to 100,000 GT and up to 300 meters in length. Joint activities with the Rijeka Tourist Board in international promotion actively contribute to positioning Rijeka as an attractive cruising destination on the Adriatic. In addition, long-standing cooperation with cruise operators and regular participation of the Port of Rijeka Authority at trade fairs are yielding concrete results. For 2026, nearly 40 cruise ship calls have been announced, expected to bring more than 42,000 passengers to Rijeka. Particularly notable was the arrival of the luxury ship Spirit of Discovery at the end of March, confirming Rijeka’s growing recognition in cruise tourism.
