Port of Rijeka Day at Transport Logistic 2025 in Munich
As part of Transport Logistic 2025—one of the world’s leading trade fairs for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management—held from June 2 to 5 in Munich, the Port of Rijeka Authority and its partners showcased the potential of the Rijeka port system to the international audience. A special highlight of the event was the celebration of Port of Rijeka Day, held on Tuesday, June 3 at 2 PM at the joint exhibition space in Hall B3 (booth 221/322).
In front of numerous guests and business partners from across Europe, a formal program featured speeches from co-exhibitors:
- Denis Vukorepa, Executive Director, Port of Rijeka Authority
- Marko Mišković, Management Board Member, Luka Rijeka d.d.
- Emmanuel Papagiannakis, CEO, Adriatic Gate Container Terminal
- Nedjeljko Kapetanović, Director, JPS d.o.o.
- Peter Corfitsen, CEO, Rijeka Gateway d.o.o.
- Ante Jakić, Head of Sales, ENNA Group
- Vladimir Benac, CFO, Manšped d.o.o.
- Sergey Morev, Director, International Logistics and Chartering GmbH
Among the distinguished attendees were high-ranking representatives of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia, including Žarko Tušek, State Secretary; Nina Perko, Director of the Maritime Administration and Member of the Governing Council of the Port of Rijeka Authority; Bojan Hlača, Chairman of the Governing Council; and Vesna Mrzljak, Member of the Governing Council.
This year’s presentation emphasized the strategic transport importance of the Rijeka transport route, which was, for the first time, featured as part of three TEN-T corridors: the Mediterranean, Baltic–Adriatic, and Western Balkans–Eastern Mediterranean. This marks a significant step toward deeper integration of the Rijeka route into the European transport and economic network.
A key focus was also placed on the green transformation of the Port of Rijeka, especially through the project “Upgrade of Rijeka Port Infrastructure – Shore-to-Ship Power Supply”. The initiative will enable vessels to connect to shore power at both the Adriatic Gate and Rijeka Gateway container terminals, making Rijeka one of the first ports in Europe to implement this technology across both of its container terminals.
All co-exhibitors engaged in a series of international B2B meetings throughout the fair, further confirming the growing recognition and competitiveness of the Rijeka transport route in the European market.
The Port of Rijeka Day program was elevated by an exceptional performance by world-renowned cellist Ana Rucner, accompanied by a stunning visual presentation showcasing the beauty of Croatia. Guests also enjoyed authentic Croatian cuisine, with delicacies specially prepared for the occasion by Hilton Costabella Rijeka.
