Port of Hamburg Delegation visited the Port of Rijeka Authority

The Port of Rijeka Authority hosted a delegation from the Port of Hamburg, one of the largest and most significant European ports that plays a key role in global trade. On the path of its own progress, in the recent period Rijeka’s port capacities have undergone a phase of intensive modernization and improvement, further emphasizing its important geostrategic position on the northern Adriatic.

Executive Director of the Port of Rijeka Authority, Mr. Denis Vukorepa, along with his colleagues, welcomed the members of the delegation and presented current and planned investments in the port infrastructure. Special emphasis was placed on the new competitive advantages of the Port of Rijeka that have emerged from the start of the operational activities of the new Rijeka Gateway Container Terminal. Following the meeting,  ideas about opportunities for future cooperation were exchanged as well as about the mutual interests in the context of EU traffic connectivity.

Attendees from the Port of Hamburg included representatives from the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) as well as prominent companies and institutions connected with the port activities, such as EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg GmbH, Hamburg Port and Logistic Corporation (HHLA), Stena Line GmbH & Co KG, Port of Hamburg Marketing – Representative Office Vienna & Budapest, as well as the Department of Economic Affairs, Labour and Innovations of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
