Study visit of the War School “Ban Josip Jelačić”
On March 25, 2026, a visit by the participants of the War School „Ban Josip Jelačić“, the highest military-civilian educational institution in the Republic of Croatia, took place in the Meeting Hall of the Port of Rijeka Authority. This institution focuses on the education and training of senior officers and state officials for holding the highest positions in defense and security. Its program is based on the integration of military and civilian knowledge and the development of strategic competencies in a modern security environment.
The visit was organized as part of the training of the 28th generation of the War School, which includes eleven participants. Seven of them are from the Republic of Croatia (Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Armed Forces, Ministry of the Interior, State Audit Office, and the Croatian Parliament), while four participants come from the armed forces of partner countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Montenegro.
During their stay at the Port of Rijeka Authority, the participants were introduced to the activities managed by the Authority. Special attention was given to major projects, investments, and developments that have transformed the port, as well as to the port community’s information system and cybersecurity topics. The visit provided a better understanding of the role of the Port of Rijeka in the economic and security system of the Republic of Croatia and the wider region.
