Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand on an official visit to the Port of Rijeka Authority

The delegation of the Kingdom of Thailand, led by H.E. Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasen, was introduced to the development projects of the port and the possibilities of strengthening trade links between Southeast Asia and Europe.

On April 25, 2025, the Port of Rijeka Authority was visited by H.E. Mr. Phrommes Bhaholpolbhayuhasena, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, accompanied by his delegation. The visit was also attended by the Honorary Consul of Thailand in the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Stjepan Ćurić, as well as representatives of Croatian business community.

During the official part of the program, representatives of the Port of Rijeka Authority held a presentation on current infrastructure projects in progress, as well as on future development plans until 2035. It was emphasized that the Port of Rijeka is increasingly positioning itself as a competitive and modern logistics center on the European maritime map. The topics of discussion included realized investments and a view into future capital projects with a special emphasis on sustainable development and green transitions.

As part of the visit, the delegation also visited key port capacities – the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal and the new Rijeka Gateway Terminal. Ambassador Bhaholpolbhayuhasena expressed his gratitude for the reception and useful information and confirmed the Embassy’s readiness to support the further building of strong economic relations. The Port of Rijeka has been recognized as a strategically important area for strengthening trade relations as well as for connecting Southeast Asia with Central and Southeastern Europe.
