Due to considerably difficult operating conditions that Rijeka port was experiencing in the past period, it was not possible to undertake the necessary measures for the development and repair of the port infrastructure. The situation has improved with the efforts of the Port of Rijeka Authority, but the port infrastructure still requires important investments (port areas, rail and road connections, railroad bridges, quaysides, electric power installation, water pipeline, sewers).
