UN projects
The Port of Rijeka Authority participated in the foundation of the National Forum for the implementation of the project "GloBallast Partnership 2007 – 2012", established by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure with the aim of adopting and implementing the national strategy for the management of vessel water ballast. The Republic of Croatia is one of the leading partners in this project launched by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the UN’s Developement Programme (UNDP) with the aim to help states diminish the transfer of harmful organisms via the water ballast.
